Tirta Gangga Royal Water Garden

The Tirta Gangga Royal Water Garden is the must place to visit in Karangasem, East Bali. This park is famous for its water palace, which is owned by the Kingdom of Karangasem which was built in 1946 during the reign of the Raja of Karangasem. He is Anak Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem Agung.  The Tirta Gangga area spent a major renovation because of Mount Agung eruption in 1963. It took several years to restore Tirta Gangga before it was reopened by the Karangasem government.

The location of Tirta Gangga is located just below the foot of Mount Agung, the highest mountain in Bali. and It only takes 20 minutes away from Taman Ujung Water Palace well known as Taman Soekasada Ujung. The Taman Soekasada Ujung was built around the same time as the Tirta Gangga.

Tirta Gangga Royal Water Garden has a beautiful spot in the middle. Two small ponds surround the large side of the pool with several magnificent statues of gods and goddesses. Well, next to it is a very elegant eleven-tiered named Nawa Sanga. This is the main attraction of Tirta Gangga. A calm atmosphere with cool air in Tirta Gangga is perfect to unwind and make us feels relax. There is a pole with stamping quite safe for the size of the foot that surrounds the pool to see and greet the fish on the surface of the water, it's like we are walking on the water! Hundreds of small to large sizes goldfish kept moving agile around the clear water pool and was quite cold.

Basically, the water in Tirta Gangga comes from the ground, not refill water like some swimming pools in general. According to local residents, this water is holy water which is usually used for performing traditional ceremonies.

Because The Tirta Gangga Royal Water Garden also has a swimming pool that allows tourists to swim there. The pool that can be used for swimming is the Sanih Water Pool. The water in the Sanih pond is very clear because the water used comes from the Rejasa spring that flows into the city of Amlapura. The swimming area for children and adults is separate because the depth of the pool is different.

Prepare time to enjoy around 2 hours to take a walk and enjoy Tirta Gangga. It would be a perfect day if you enjoy bathing or swimming there. The day can run smoothly when you just sitting enjoying the sound of water, chatting with fish, or swimming here.
