Mount Batur

For all of you who really like to hiking, it will certainly be very suitable to climb this is one of the famous mountains in Bali, namely Mount Batur. The main of this mountain is actually still active until now.

The location of this mountain can be reached in about 30 minutes driving away from Ubud or about two hours driving with a motorbike from Kuta.

Mount Batur is the active Kintamani Volcano and still appears to emit sulfur fumes billowing above it. Mount Batur consists of 3 mountain cones, each of which is still active. Mount Batur last erupted in 2000, with the most devastating eruption in 1926 which made damage to several locals residential and also for several villages around Mount Batur. Mount Batur erupted in 1804 and until now Mount Batur Kintamani Bali has erupted 26 times.

To climb Mount Batur, the journey starts from the start point at Jati, Toya Bungkah Kintamani Temple at around 4 AM in the morning. If you are climbing for the first time, you should ask for a guide to accompany you. But if you are confident enough to be able to pick up other climbers, you should 'infiltrate' in a group of other climbers. Actually, the climbing route is not difficult because every single day a hundred of people climbs Mount Batur, but the journey starts when it's still dark so it can be troublesome for those of you who don't know the terrain at all.
